GiftList Alternatives (2026)GiftList Alternatives (2026): 7 Wishlist Apps Compared for Families & Gifting
The best GiftList alternatives in 2026 are WishDeck, Listful, Giftster, Giftful, Elfster, GoWish and Stow, and which one fits depends on what GiftList is missing for you: per-wish privacy, a list page you would actually post, price tracking, a permanent family group, a big Secret Santa, or an iPhone-only social list. GiftList itself is free, generous and good at the basics, so this is not a takedown. I co-founded WishDeck, one of the alternatives, and I have marked where GiftList still wins.
For the full seven-app field see the best wishlist apps comparison, for the two family veterans read Giftster vs Elfster vs WishDeck, and if the list is going on Instagram, our guide to making an aesthetic wishlist shows what a collage share looks like.
Add-on magic: If per-wish privacy is why you are here, the free WishDeck wishlist lets you show a wish to Family and hide it from Co-workers, keeps a list per family member in one account, and turns any list into a collage for the group chat.

FreeWhat GiftList does well, and where it stops

Checked September 13, 2026: GiftList is 100% free with no limits on lists or items, runs on iPhone, Android, web and browser extensions, adds from any store, hides purchases from the list owner, lets guests reserve without an account, and includes cash funds, registry import, a gift-exchange tool and an AI gift finder called Genie. That is a lot for free, and for a plain "here is what I want" list it is hard to beat.
Where it stops: privacy is set per list, not per wish, so there is no way to show one item to your partner and hide it from your parents. The list page looks like a registry, not something you would post to a story. The gift-giver side (cards, events, idea lists, friends) makes the app feel busier than a simple want-list needs to be. And there is no price tracking across stores. Each alternative below fixes one of those.

1. WishDeck: per-wish privacy and family lists

Fixes: the privacy gap, the family gap and the looks gap at once. Circles let you decide which group (Family, Best Friends, Co-workers) sees each individual wish or list. One account holds a separate list for every child and parent, and an older child with their own iPhone can choose WishDeck Kids, a kid-safe mode with events, comments, likes and public feeds switched off. Any list becomes an Instagram-sized collage in one tap. Reservations are hidden from you, the Secret Santa draw takes three taps with every player's wishlist attached, and the AI gift assistant suggests ideas from what people are actually adding to wishlists right now.
Where GiftList still wins: guests reserve on GiftList with no account at all, while WishDeck asks for a quick free sign-up. GiftList also has cash funds and registry import, which WishDeck does not. Circles and unlimited AI searches are part of WishDeck Premium.
Price and platforms: free; iPhone, Android, web. See the WishDeck wishlist app
2. Listful: the prettiest list page

Fixes: the looks gap. Listful's list page is the best-looking of the group and got themes in 2026 (Pink, Ocean, Sage, Vintage and more). It adds by link, extension or barcode, tracks prices with sale notifications, sorts by priority, and viewers mark an item purchased without an account. It reports a 4.9 rating from more than 15,000 reviews and two million users.
Where GiftList still wins: seeing who reserved is Listful Pro (from about $2.99 a month), and there is no Secret Santa draw, no cash funds and no child profiles.
Price and platforms: free, Pro optional; iPhone, Android, web. Try Listful
3. Giftster: the permanent family group

Fixes: the family-structure gap. Giftster is a closed group where every relative keeps a list and claims gifts without the recipient knowing, with child accounts under a parent's login and an organizer-blind Secret Santa draw. No display ads, running since 2009, over three million members.
Where GiftList still wins: speed, a modern interface, no-account reserving on every list rather than only public web lists, and the AI finder.
Price and platforms: free; iPhone, Android, web, browser extensions. Try Giftster
4. Giftful: price tracking across stores

Fixes: the price gap. Giftful compares prices across retailers and tracks changes on saved items, claims gifts anonymously, allows unlimited lists and has a 4.8 App Store rating from about 86,000 ratings, with apps for iPhone and Android plus a Chrome plugin.
Where GiftList still wins: viewers need a Giftful account by default (the owner can switch it off per list), and reviewers note the importer sometimes picks the wrong photo. No draw, no cash funds.
Price and platforms: free; iPhone, Android, web, extension. Try Giftful
5. Elfster: the Secret Santa specialist

Fixes: the big-exchange gap. Elfster runs the deepest Secret Santa: budgets, exclusions, reminders, anonymous questions, and a wishlist for every participant. It claims 47 million people and a 4.9 App Store rating from more than 400,000 reviews.
Where GiftList still wins: every Elfster participant needs an account and must log in to mark a gift bought, and Elfster is ad-supported. As an everyday list it is weaker.
Price and platforms: free with ads; iPhone, Android, web. Try Elfster
6. GoWish: the most downloaded wishlist app

Fixes: the "does anyone I know use it?" gap. GoWish is the most downloaded wishlist app in this group, adds from any store by link or share sheet, hides reservations from the owner and offers sub-accounts for under-13s.
Where GiftList still wins: gift-givers must log in to reserve, there is no Secret Santa draw, and the free app shows brand promotions.
Price and platforms: free; iPhone, Android, web. Try GoWish
7. Stow: iPhone-only and social

Fixes: the "too busy" gap. Stow is a calm, curated iPhone list with public and private lists, friends to follow and collaborative lists for trips. Free with no subscription.
Where GiftList still wins: everything gifting-related. Stow has no Android app and no reservation system.
Price and platforms: free; iPhone only. Try Stow
Which alternative should you pick?
Want to control who sees each wish, keep every family member's list in one account and share collages: WishDeck. Want the prettiest page: Listful. Want a private family group that lasts a decade: Giftster. Want price alerts on everything saved: Giftful. Running a big exchange: Elfster. Want the app your friends already have: GoWish. Want a quiet iPhone list with no gifting at all: Stow. And if none of those gaps bother you, stay on GiftList; it is free and it works.
