The word taba covers more than one material. TABASQUISHY describes solid silicone; ORB's store versions are thermoplastic rubber. NeeDoh and foam squishies are different toys that often share a shelf with them.

Are Taba Squishies Safe? 2026 Recalls and Age Ratings
We found no CPSC recall or warning that names taba squishies as of September 28, 2026. The recalls below are for other squishy toys, and they show what to avoid.
2026 squishy recalls and warnings
- May 21: about 121,340 Orb Funkee squeeze toys, because the sand inside may contain asbestos. The recall names two Funkee models. It does not name Tabalicious.
- August 5: a CPSC alert about fake squishy toys and burns. Never microwave or heat a squishy.
- September 3: about 7,200 Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys and about 8,000 GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings, because of water beads inside.
- September 17: about 276 more squishy bun toys sold by Toyworld168, for the same reason.
Age ratings on the picks above
- Ages 3+: the handmade hamster.
- Ages 4 to 12: the 10-pack.
- Ages 5+: both ORB Tabalicious toys.
- Ages 8+: the Dan&Darci kit. Ages 14+: the LET'S RESIN kit.

Whatever you buy, look for a named maker and an age rating on the pack, keep small squishies away from children under 3, and throw away any squishy that tears. How to Clean a Sticky Taba Squishy
A taba squishy gets sticky and dusty with use. TABASQUISHY published this method for its own toys on May 19, 2026; check the care note on other brands before you wash them.
Steps
- Wash with lukewarm water and one small drop of mild soap, using the pads of your fingers.
- Rinse under cool running water for 30 to 60 seconds, until no soap is left.
- Pat dry with a lint-free towel, then let it air-dry fully.
- When it is completely dry, dust it with less than a quarter teaspoon of talc-free powder and tap off the rest.
Do not
- Use hot water, bleach, alcohol sanitizer, toothbrushes, sponges or fingernails.
- Dry it with heat or in direct sun.
- Wash a flocked (fuzzy) squishy with water. Lift dust with clear tape or a soft dry brush.
